Slow cooker porridge for baby


  • 1/2 cup steel cut oats
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave nectar
  • 1/4 cup dried fruit (optional)


  1. Combine the oats, almond milk, water, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a slow cooker.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours, or until the oats are tender and cooked through.
  3. In the last hour of cooking, stir in the mashed banana and honey or agave.
  4. Stir in the dried fruit, if using, during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
  5. Serve warm, topped with additional banana or dried fruit, if desired.
